I can't speak/write in German, so I will do it in English.
I bought this car 1,5 years ago.
She is not in a good condition, but technically, she is now 90% ok!
It's a 1500cc diesel, i fell in love for it's beautifull original color, miami blue
and the fact that it is such an early 1977 diesel!
He is only driven now when the weather is good, if not, the rust would expand ;-).
I want to restore it to it's 100% original state in a few years, but I want to know if some of you Golf-IG'rs have some pictures of the diesels in 1977, what kind of seats, bumpers,dash layout, moterbay, etc...

Hello,
sorry, i don´t have pictures of 1977 Golf.
But you could get the 1500 Diesel in all the variants (seats,colours,etc.) as the other golf.
Pictures out of the brochures 1/78 or 8/77 on request.

Hello,
If your Diesel is made in 1977, so called Model-Year 1978, there´s the question what comfort-equipment it was originally: was it a Standard "GOLF", a "GOLF L" or a "GOLF GL". The low equipped standard Models only had Bumpers in silver-paint, the L- and GL-models had such in chrome.
Is your engine still the first? The motor-identification-code must begin with "CK......", that´s for: 1500ccm, 50 PS. The 1,6 Liter engines are 54 Horsepower and the Code "CR or JK".
For the enterieur, seats, backseat and Tachometer i may can help you:
I cut up a miami-blue 70 PS from 1978 three years ago and there´s still the seats and the backseat.

I won´t get rich in selling my unnecesary parts, I have two Diesel, too. Formel E, 1981, 433.00km, and 1983, 502.00km, both first engine.
So, I think you did the best to contact us, there are not only GTI´s, the same number are Diesel.
