Hallo!
New updates:
Kadaver-Stil Update 104:
Die Gurte an den Vordersitzen waren "müde" in der Fähigkeit, sich in Rolle. Es ist nach Jahren der Service verständlich, aber ich hoffte, es werde in Kürze behoben werden.

I allways enjoy looking at every episode of your restoration diary and I copied all of your photos into my personal best-of-collection, but this time I fear you went one step to far!
It is highly recommended never ever to service the internal parts of seatbelts! You take risk that the mechanism will fail in the case you need them most and especially when using WD40, because WD40 tends to resinify ("verharzen") and will be very sticky after some time and the mechanism will be worse than before!
The seatbelts are available new from the vw online classic shop for about 80 euros per seatbelt.

Thank you very much! I am glad that you find so much pleasure in following my project.
I was not aware of the fact that WD40 can resinify. I have done the same with several seatbelts during the years, and have never experienced any problems afterwards. I will though be more observant on the mekanisms function onwards. Thank you for the information!
The budget on the car does not allow purchase of new seatbelts at the moment, but it will be moved up on the "need to buy list" for the future or hopefully the coming season.
